Students who attend the Butte County Office of Education's After School Programs participated at the 10th Annual "Kids Challenge" held at Butte College on Wednesday, April 5, from 1:45-5:30 pm. at the main campus, 3536 Butte Campus Drive. A total of 23 schools and 500 students throughout Butte County participated.
Students arrived at 1:45 p.m. and received a tour of the campus by tour guides from the college. Following the tour, students entered the gym and received a welcome from Butte County Superintendent Tim Taylor and Butte College President, Dr. Samia Yaqub. There was also a special appearance by the Butte College Roadrunner, "Dash" who had some surprises up his sleeves. At 3:45 p.m., students cheered on one representative from their schools in a competitive academic trivia tournament. This event helps promote the benefits of attending college to students at an early age.
